PHONE SCAMS

(PUBLISHERS CLEARING HOUSE SCAM) We’ve had a report of a new phone scam in town. The Publishers Clearing House 5 Million Dollar call. They ask for information, request they meet you at Walmart to present the check… Do not give out any personal information. Don’t even talk to the parties on the phone. Just write the number down if you have caller ID and report it to your local authorities.

(CAN YOU HEAR ME SCAM) Another scam hitting the phones (cell phones included), is a caller that asks if you can hear them. Usually this is a female voice, but may be male sometimes. You are being recorded and may use your recorded “YES” to access automated banking accounts, credit cards, etc… Hang up immediately and report the number to your local authorities.
